Cloudflare Extends Zero Trust Security to Enterprise Doors

Plans to deploy the equipment directly to more than 1,000 of the world’s most populous office complexes and housing units to help secure and connect their networks

Cloudflare, Inc., the security, performance and reliability company helping to build a better Internet, today announced that it will expand its network to iconic properties such as Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, Willis Tower Chicago, John Hancock Tower in Boston and 30 Hudson Yards, 4 Times Square and 520 Madison in New York City, as well as the continued expansion planned into thousands of other office buildings and housing units around the world. This dramatic expansion will allow businesses to easily connect to Cloudflare’s network from offices and coworking spaces instead of relying on rigid and expensive hardware solutions. Now, businesses will have another way to connect to the SASE Cloudflare One suite of security solutions to help secure and connect employees across all devices, applications and networks they can use in a hybrid work environment.

“No one knows exactly what the future of work will look like for every organization, but we know it will be more flexible,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare. “Businesses shouldn’t have to sacrifice security to help people be productive, whether they’re in the office, at home, or on the go. Bringing a Zero Trust solution to organizations is the only way for them to prepare for any scenario. Successful businesses need the highest performing, most reliable and secure connectivity, wherever they do business.

Businesses have maintained expensive and hardware-intensive desktop networks since the dawn of the modern Internet. Never have they achieved less return on this investment than during the COVID-19 pandemic – and the hybrid future of work will only exacerbate the high costs of maintaining and securing this outdated infrastructure.

Additionally, these legacy networks were not designed to keep employees secure across all of their devices, networks, applications, and workplaces. By connecting directly to Cloudflare’s network, businesses will save the time and cost of identifying, managing, and securing their own hardware. This expansion of Cloudflare’s network will make it easy for businesses of all sizes to adopt its Zero Trust and SASE, or Secure Access Service Edge, solutions to connect and secure employees, wherever they work.

“Throughout the pandemic, we have helped our more than 12,000 employees to work safely and transparently from their homes or from our offices. Cloudflare solutions have been essential and we are delighted to continue to partner with effective and robust solutions, ”said Mark Papermaster, CTO and Executive Vice President, Technology and Engineering, at Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

“Real estate is about to be revolutionized with new solutions applied to age-old problems. Nothing more than how we reimagine the workplace of the future, ”said Kitty Sullivan, director of the JLL Spark Global Venture Fund.

“We see a lot of potential in the way Cloudflare brings its network directly to our offices,” said Aaron Dearinger Edge Architect at Garmin International. “It is essential that we empower our people to work productively and safely, and this allows us to do so much more easily, no matter where our teams will be working in the future, and to reduce our costs of network along the way. “
